Well, the good news is that the rift in the Church from the Reformation movement is slowly closing.
In 1850, the US was only 5% Catholic; in 1917, the US was 14% Catholic; and in 2005, the US was 25% Catholic. Each year in the US, 150,000 adults (equivalent of Kansas City) join the Catholic Church.
